I used a 512 during a recent Night time AR class. Not a big fan of them due to the distortion you get from the reticle. Out at distant the reticle overshadows the target. I prefer the Aimpoint PRO.
Other then that it performance was average, Most like them because it runs off AA batteries. IMHO nice to have as a back up.
