Well, first let me show you what it looked like in the beginning...a power hacksaw blade (with tungsten carbide teeth), and a honey locust log.

And here is what it FINALLY looked like today. I'm embarrassed to tell you how long I've been working on this dang thing...or how much it cost me to make... The straighter part of the edge is tungsten carbide...didn't I tell you this was a chef's knife to end all chef's knives?

that is cool..I have to ask how many hours?!!?

Hours? I wish! You mean how many months!

I've made knives before, but there were several aspects of the process I was never satisfied with. This project was to work out a better process and find out what equipment was required to do it right without having to buy a milling machine. Lot's of trial and error, emphasis on error. And numerous trips to Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowes...and numerous orders from Amazon and Ebay.

Default Day 19 P. J. Tomes San Francisco Dagger

When I bought this knife I called PJ to ask him about this knife. He said it was one of his first Damascus blades; the nickel silver studded handle is Walrus Ivory; and the nickel silver sheath is in sore need of polishing and the silver ball, missing from the tip of the sheath, needs to be silver soldered back on. An E-Bay bargain buy!!!

Default Ran out of fingers and toes!

I guess I've managed to lose count so here's Days 20 and 21 together:

Day 20: Plainly elegant; Vanderkolff of Canada makes some very nice knives. This Damascus and Desert Ironwood handled dagger shall remain one of my favorites:

Day 21: George Koutsopoulous (Ohio) Randall #1 clone with stag handle:
