Here's my new to me S&W 29-3, 10 5/8" bbl, .44 Mag that my brother so generously gave me yesterday. He's had since it was new and he passed it down to me.
Now, I need to learn how to shoot, clean and maintain it. Right now, it makes a rattle noise around the grip/frame area when you hold it upside down and tip it back and forth. I took off the grips looked but saw nothing, is that normal? By itself... And with my unit patches and crests... Does having a S&W redeem myself any for having the Kimber????

The rattle you are hearing is probably the hammer block and is perfectly normal.
![]() It is the long piece with the loop at the bottom. Here is an entire thread about it on another forum. http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-rev...s-w-629-a.html
