Question. As the leather breaks in and years go by, can't the long sweat guard curve to the point of presenting a hazard when holstering the firearm? I'm positive I've read about NDs due to this issue, leather that has soften up with the years and all of the sudden creeps into the trigger guard and BAM!

Thoughts?

All of my leather IWB holsters have the guards, including Brommelands going back over 11 years.

I've never experienced any such problems yet, myself.

I have had one holster that the sweat guard got sloppy on because the leather wasn't heavy enough. According to the holster maker. Pauls holsters are well made with great materials. Holsters won't last forever.

I have made holsters for years and never had one do a BLAM . It could if it tripped the safety and wrapped around the grip safety on a 1911 ( I suppose )

I've never worn one long enough to find out. I prefer leather without but at the same time appreciate what it does in preserving the gun from affects of sweat.

My draw stroke is such that it nearly gets in the way of the scoop draw, but it's really that I'm not practiced enough with the sweat shield in play, so I have to get to work on that, and have been.

I think if Pauls starts to fold over at all, it's easy enough to soak in water and stiffen back up after it dries.
