you, your Wife and your Daughter all need to go out and shoot some handguns, find one that fits all three of you and buy one for each of you plus a spare or two, then get a ton of magazines, load them up and stash them and the spare handguns around the house.

if all three of you become familiar with the same pistol and all your magazines are the same then you should be ready for anything no matter what part of the house you're in.

Yep, agree here must shoot and hold to see what "feels" best. They just practice and talk through the what if situations with family. Planning and practice are critical I think. Nothing wrong with Glock, I have one only use it for hunting but still a great gun. Have used a G21, G23 in the past Liked the G23 but it was ported and was loud as heck. If it was not ported would probably still have it. the G21 I have used is FIL's. Shot great and easy to use.

I have small kids in my house so stashing guns throughout is no an option for me. I carry on body all day even while at home so I keep 1 on me and it goes all around the house. If I had stash guns I would think snub wheel guns. Where would be near each door at least and how would be dictated by furniture within reach.

Glock 17's scattered about, all with night sights and a 150 lumen flashlight next to each pistol. They are loaded with 33 round mags, I do not plan a mag swap in a home invasion.

If you've decided on the G19 for yourself, you may wish to consider the G17 and/or G26 to stash around the residence for mag commonality, same manual of arms, same trigger feel, disassembly, etc. This would work as long as your wife and daughter also find the Glocks to their liking.

I also keep two shotguns in areas of the house to which one is likely to retreat, tube fully loaded, safety off, chamber empty.
