The caliber is TCM 22 which is a 223 casing cut down and then necked down to accept a .22 caliber 40 grain bullet.

I wonder how it would compare in tests to .22 Hornet.

It would be interesting to see head to head results against othe calibers, ex: .22 Hornet, 5.7, .17 HMR, ect...

I can chime in on this, my FIL is a rifle guy and we did some crony work with his reloads/loads I have no idea what was shooting.
These were averages from the data I have saved on the computer but this info will be close. Don't have the specs on the loads can get it if you really want it from him.

.22 Hornet Average: 2741 FPS
.218 Bee Average: 2804 FPS
.17 HMR Average: 2890 FPS
.17 Mach 2 Average: 2055 FPS
.22 LR Average: 1056 FPS
.22 Mag Average: 2009 FPS

Hope this puts some light on the subject. Different rifles were used obviously but most were Savage heavy barrel, that is what he likes to use the best.

I also forgot to mention that the magazine supplied is a 5 round but the 17 round for the handguns will also function in the rifle. Also hardly no recoil at all with either.

, not sure if this will help but here is a picture. I have another set of medium rings coming to see if they will be any different. The main trouble I had was my hand hitting the scope more so than the bolt, but the bolt was very close. Not enough for me to work the bolt properly.

Wow, that's a high opening bolt (don't know the terminology of the "sweep"?). Is this a prototype rifle? If so, maybe you can suggest a different bent bolt....?... I'm not knocking the action, just my observations.
