Default Tumbler ?

My lyman tumbler went South today . Can't afford another one at that price .

So has anyone tried The Harbor Freight $52.00 one . I can afford that . But only if they are decent . I don't load that much any more so it would be light use .

I don't have one but have heard both good and bad reviews.....The guys who have them from what I read really like them alot and they work well. I guess you have to put some little rubber feet on the bottom though.

The guys who don't like them had them die very quickly and need to return for a new one. Harbor Freight has easy returns but still a pain.

Sorry I am not more helpful really.

I have had both the 5 pounder and the 18 pounder from Harbor Freight. The 5 lb model.... not so good. The 18 lb is a freakin' workhorse. I use it all the time. It's lasted at least three years now. But... its considerably more expensive.

Try Berry's. They now have a new version of their old tried and true tumbler. It has a removable bowl for ease of use. When my old Cabela model went south... Berry's honored the warrantee.... even for a Cabela branded model... and sent me a new one.

Frankford Arsenal... in Sportsman's Guide... has this kit for sale. I have a Dillon media separator.... but if you don't have one, this might work for you too:

Finally... MidSouth has a number of tumblers. the smaller Lyman 400 is going for $58. If you were happy with your Lyman, and you're not doing large amounts any longer.... this might work for you.

I have a Dillon with media separator that has done yeoman's duty for years and years and years.

Damn, I just looked up the current price! I see what you mean about the prices. That's almost three times what I paid for it back when...

as far as a media separator, I bought two plastic collanders for a buck apiece at Dollar General, made a hinge deal to tie them together, then just roll them by hand over a bucket. It works

that's what I do as well, except I use only one collander.

I've had two of the Harbor Freight tumblers. Now I have a Lyman Turbo.

I bought the lyman from craigslist, used, for $50. Used, it's better than
either of the HF units were when they were new.

For sure!

I have a Lyman Turbo 1200 that I bought used in 1995 for $15.00, and it's still going strong.
