Default A weekend at camp D.

I have two main, and one back up place I hunt in state. This is my girlfriends grandmothers place up in wonderful AR. Didn't see much this weekend but really enjoyed the company more than anything. I was really hoping to bag an elk that escaped from the local nature preserve. Here are some shots from out and about - saw more turkey than I think I've ever seen before!

'Roughing it'

The big one. We have 3 plots up there but this is the nicest:

On the property we get to explore next door, there is remnants of the original landowners wagon they moved to the property in. The chimney is a little ways down the trail:

My ugly mug enjoying the day:

Beautiful country:

The girl forging the creek:

All the dots at the bottom of the hill are turkey, probably 20 or so down there:

And a 'family photo:'

-Robert

Robert looks really nice, but you are missing two things, your 10 gallon hat and six shooter...............

Nice camp! Must be pretty when the snow falls. The horses remind me of my Elk hunt in Idaho where I scored a nice 6x6 bull.

Thanks guys. Never been there for a snow, there's a creek bed with a beautiful waterfall when we get enough rain though.

Just fortunate I'm with a girl that enjoys it all as much as I do!

Nice pictures Robert. I could spend a couple of hours looking around that old homestead. You might find something cool.

Oxford, MS huh? I've coon hunted down around Winona before. That's some ROUGH country compared to where I live. We had to cross some spots that had been clear cut and were grown over with those green briars. What a nightmare!

Take care and good luck hunting up in the ARK.
