Incidentally, the new Cobra has an MSRP of $699.

I have mixed feelings about new Colt DA revos but if it helps their overall well being going forward - good for them. It's been tough seeing them on the ropes with a dubious future. That said, I'm perfectly happy with my 70's vintage Detective Special.

I have no problem with quality firearms being brought to market. I am not familiar with the whole snake line to know if this is just a copy or an improvement or a whole new revolver just given the name to capitalize on a successful history. All in all looks good to me!

My first Colt revolver was a King Cobra. What a heavy lump of steel that was. I love the "snakes" I have owned; but only a Diamondback in 22 lr is left. (Along with a detective special, in addition to my 10 inch DW 44 Magnum) It seems the revolvers are making a small comeback with Colt re issuing the Cobra and Mimber releasing the K6s. The original "Cobra" was nothing special. If the Python does come back, it will likely be a Colt Custom Shop production with a price tag to match. The used ones are fetching serious money. (I gave my 4 inch Python to my son a few years ago.)
