Default The LCR 9mm

Howdy Pard's

I wonder why there are gun shows every month in my area?..Well that gives me the option of spending money every month and changing what I carry or carry to and from the safe (NOT!) If i font's shoot it then I will not own it.

Well, Pard's summer has come early to South East Florida and carrying a 2#+ gun in the hot heat is not much fun.
Right, I know what they say, carrying a gun is not suppose to be comfortable but it is to be comforting.

While I wait for my G43 to come in, weighs in just over 1 lb. at 17 oz, it might be my new gun of choice. But as I wondered pass my friends table, i noticed all of the new wheel guns and decided to buy one,but which one?

I focused in on a Airweght in 38spl+P, but as I stated to check it out my eyes found the Ruger LCR's .
Yes , I shot Ruger Cowboy guns and decided to take a look., and what did I see but an LCR 9mm.

Ok, the S&W went down and the Ruger went home.

It is a five shot, with moon clips and weighs in at 18 oz loaded. Comes with 3 moon clips and fits very nicely in the pocket (with a DeSantis pocket holster).

Yesterday, I decided to take it to the range and see what it can do.

I used three different rounds for a total of about 100 rds.

I used my regular competition load of 3.9g Clay Dot with a 139 g Berry's plated and Federal primer.

Second load was 3.5 g Clay Dot with a 125 g lead bullet and the grid round was Factory Carry rounds of Hornady Critical Defense, 115 g,

Shooting was done at 10 yds. and the results were very interesting.

Holding dead on sent all of the rounds to the right and off center.
Holding at the bottom of the target, sent a tight group, but low and a little to the right of center.
Holding to the left of center (about 2 in. ) brought the rounds into the center.
A check on the internet indicated that the front sight is all wrong and it should be changed, which I will do with a HiViz green FO. It is a lower flat sight and should bring the sight picture in line with the target.

Will I carry this gun, you bet, it is easy on the hand even with a little flip (might port the barrel) and it is nothing in the pocket.

Just have to remember that you have to use good ammo and make sure that the Crimp is correct or the bullet will back out into the case.

Just a few quick Cell phone pics.
