New Broken Stabity Stabs
A couple of years ago I purged my blade inventory down to a few knives I always carry/use. I used the monies I got out of the sales to purchase other things. I do this all the time from one type of item to the next (keeps me out of financial debt). Recently I have been getting the itch (no, not the same itch River gets) to get back into the folding knife game (just want something new in my pockets). So, I picked up three blades this week to start off my journey. I’m no steel expert but, I know what I like in a pocket knife.
First up: The most $$$$ I’ve spent on a broken blade thus far in life. The Hinderer Knives XM-18 3.5 Slicer. Overall Length: 8.25" Blade Length: 3.50" Cutting Edge: 3.125" Blade Thickness: 0.16" Blade Material: CPM-20CV Hardness: 60-61 RC Blade Style: Drop Point Blade Grind: Flat Finish: Stonewash Edge Type: Plain Handle Length: 4.75" Handle Thickness: 0.53" Handle Material: G-10 Color: Orange, Blue Frame/Liner: Titanium Weight: 5.70 oz. User: Right Hand Pocket Clip: Tip-Up, Tip-Down Knife Type: Manual Opener: Flipper Lock Type: Frame Lock Brand: Hinderer Model: XM-18 Designer: Rick Hinderer Country of Origin: USA I don’t care for the orange color on the g-10 scale. With that said, these knives are very difficult to get. You have to be in the right place at the right time to be able to order one. These sell out within minutes of being in stock anywhere! (You can get them on eBay if you want to pay a premium) So, orange it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This next one I purchased as a work knife, something that works well but I have no worries of breaking or losing it while at work.
Civivi Elementum Overall Length: 6.99" Blade Length: 2.96" Cutting Edge: 2.625" Blade Width: 0.875" Blade Thickness: 0.12" Blade Material: D2 Blade Style: Drop Point Blade Grind: Hollow Finish: Satin Edge Type: Plain Handle Length: 4.03" Handle Width: 1.00" Handle Thickness: 0.43" Handle Material: Micarta Color: Green Frame/Liner: Stainless Steel Weight: 2.89 oz. User: Right Hand Pocket Clip: Tip-Up Knife Type: Manual Opener: Flipper Lock Type: Liner Lock Brand: CIVIVI Model: Elementum Model Number: C907T Country of Origin: China This blade has impressed me so far. The action is smooth as butter with perfect centering. The blade shape is perfect for what I use it for at work and the lock up is solid. Highly recommend this budget blade to everyone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Third blade I bought cause “it looked cool”, I’m glad I bought it, as it is super smooth in the action an locks up solid. I normally don’t go for this blade shape (I’m slowly liking it tho).

Civivi has incredible QC on their knives, which is all the more incredible because they are a "bargain" line of We Knives in China.
I have their 3.75" Naja which is no longer produced. It is my EDC.

Yep, first time with one and I’m hooked. The fit and finish is up there with the high dollar blades.
