Default Front sight for my Colt.

Talking about parts, maybe you guys can help me. I remember asking in the other forum, but don't recall if I did here.
I have a Colt Government Series 70 1911. Somehow the front sight sheered off. I want to replace it but can't find the OEM part anywhere. It's a blade style. Does anyone know where I can find one? Or does anyone have one they're willing to sell or trade for something?
Thanks.

I checked their website and they're out of stock. The problem I'm also having that they're all like the picture below. I don't recall the sight being like that, but more of a half moon. Am I right or is my recollection flawed?

You can look on the Springfield 1911 forums on ar15.com. The older Springers had the Colt front site, before the lawsuit. I think Midway was selling those staked sights.

There is a tool for compressing the stake under the slide without pounding it. Dave probly knows how it works, maybe a better way. I know alot of guys bust tritium vials trying to pound the stake to hold in place.

I had a friend, who is a budding gunsmith, replace the tiny little GI sights on my RIA compact a few years ago.

It had the narrow tenon, so I ordered these Trijicon sights.

I also ordered this staking tool and night sight mounting fixture. In return for doing the work, I let him keep the tools.

The Colt was my first handgun and first 1911, thus I want to keep it stock.

The last time I had to stake a sight I finally sent the slide out to have a dovetail milled. That sure cured my headache.
