Default VBOB Range day!

I picked up my Dan Wesson VBOB today from my local guns shop. I was absolutely shocked at the fit and finish of this fine pistol. The slide to frame fit is just as tight as my Les Baer UTC. I LOVE the 25 LPI, this is my first 25 LPI gun, and it is also my first Commander sized 1911. As soon as I was approved by NICS I got out on the range and ran 200 rounds of match ball and 30 rounds of winchester 230 grain hollow points through it. Flawless except for the last magazine. The trigger over travel screw must have moved because the trigger wouldnt reset. 3/4 turn on the screw and it was fine I am going to shoot it again and if its good I will dab loctite on that screw. Another pleasant surprise was the check mate magazines and the nice bushing wrench. Usually it seems 1911's come with junky mags, so I was happy to see the checkmate brand on mine. I love the over side slide stop and the regular front sight with the big dot and not the tiny heine straight 8 front sight. So from what I can tell, the bobtail, beavertail, hammer, trigger, slide release are Ed Brown. Side by side they look like Ed Brown parts... maybe I am off? Since this is a carry gun,the only thing I might change is the grips for some double diamond cocobolos or some SARGE grips.. I am really pleased with how grippy the VZ grips are. This is a cool gun, it approaches semi custom prices but I am really happy with it! Enjoy the pics!

Anyways, here are the PICS. Dirty and clean!

Great pistol and thanks for the report. It looks like a few minor issues, but then again, nobody is perfect.

I am supposed to pick up a New VBOB Black Duty Coat tomorrow!
I ordered it on Wednesday from Cove Creek. It "should" be at my Dealer tomorrow! I did my paperwork Wed. too.( Thinking Ahead!) They're running 2-3 days on checks here in Virginia. I am SO itching to pick that Black VBOB up tomorrow!
It's paid for! But, alas, I won't be able to take Her Home unless the State Police says so.( Somehow that seems wrong) I ALWAYS get approved, always will, but they're very slow with EVERYONE of late. I'm thinking it will be fine tomorrow and I'll take Her to the Range!

She's pretty alright, but get in on the COTEP grip deal and get some nice ones that'll dress that baby up!
