I was 3 years old at the time, but i remember it somehow, I remember the broadcast in black and white TV. We lived in Irvin, Texas at the time, Daddy said he had a hell of time getting home, due to the road blocks and questioning.

I saw them on their way to Carlswell AFB the day before he died. It was a sad day for all of us. He was the last Democrat that got my vote.
