Default AR-10 Build

Well ... I always wanted one.

Armalite lower with National Match trigger, PRS Stock and Ergo Grip. National Match 308 upper with 20" stainless heavy barrel (I'm talkin' HEAVY), VTAC rings, Harris Bi-Pod, YHM adaptor, Badger Ordnance latch, Trijicon AccuPoint scope (5-20 x 50).

I bought the lower stripped and added the parts. Bought the upper complete and added a few pieces. Just got the scope bore sighted so I am ready to sling lead tomorrow.

Funny thing is I live in the Northeast were we are lucky to find a 200 yard range (my club has a 100 yard range) and now I have a 1000 yard rifle.

Going to thread the barrel and add a comp ... per CT law of course and maybe flute it as well to reduce some weight.

Here are a few pics:

That is a great looking rifle!!! You need to find a longer range to shoot at though!

Great looking rig.

Have one of the special run Arcom AR10s. Great shooter but heavy.

... this is very encouraging!

.7 inches at 100!

First time out after barrel break in and sighing in. I am not an experienced rifleman so these results are thrilling to me!

Mike, Really nice. Great Range Report.

Does your optics weigh as much as your AR10??????

Nothing weighs as much as that big fat barrel, Chief! It is not a gun I would want to lug around for an extended period of time, that's for sure!

I don't think I'd want to lug it from the truck to the bench.

While having the barrel threaded, you can probably have the barrel turned down some for approx $50. I had Adco reprofile my LR-308C's heavy barrel to .725" and it's now well balanced.

I had a .260 Rem upper for it for a few months with a 24" bull barrel (just like yours). It only shot marginally better than my 308 upper, so I sold it.

308 ARs are definitely fun when used in the long range precision role.

Wow. That puts my Ar10 carbine to shame.
