I give you...."Toolie", my Mono
Well friends the day has come, to unveil the Mono built in honor of my late father. I call it Toolie, as it was my dad's nickname also.
Before I go any further, I'd like to thank the following people: Crazy John from www.cj1911heaven.com for taking my order and helping me some key decisions during the ordering process. Always a pleasure to talk with. I hope to call him and order something else one day. Forum member Rick aka Tango3 for loaning me his original LB grips and a pair of Sarge's grips so that my grip maker could cut them perfectly. Also Matt, aka USMC 0802 from the big forum for answering my hundreds of questions about mags and such. My grip maker, from http://www.lonestarcustomgrips.com/ for 2 of the 3 sets of grips you'll see below. The Micarta grips I got of Ebay from 1911 grip guy. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1911-Grips-G...item5d47a9bfe1 Grips screws are both from VZ and Strike Industries. I have more grips than common sense! Oh, specs on the build: Bead Blast Hard Chrome Heavy Weight Monolith 1.5" guarantee 3.5# trigger pull Naked slide, no markings or FCS Fixed plain sights Single sided safety Serrate top of slide and rear 20 LPI FSC (it's not going anywhere) Magwell Here's the pics: Stock: Two Tone Honduran Rosewood Buckeye Burl G10 Micarta Sunburst Grey/Black |
