He graduated from AIT
Well, after finishing basic training at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, my elsest son Brandon went on to AIT (Advanced Individual training) at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona where he trained to be a 35F or Military Intelligence Analyst.
He graduated last Friday and will now be will be stationed at Ft. Carson, Co. We had a great time for the few days that we spent together, his mama and girlfriend were there too. My how the Army has changed. Too many things to list, but man what a difference 20 years makes. We are all so proud of him. I/we pray for a safe enlistment and that he spends his next 3 years stateside. I reminded him I made E-5/Sgt. in less than 4 yrs (I also made E-6/SSG in less than 6) and challenged him to strive to do the same. I told him if he makes NCO within his 3 yrs, I will fly in for the promotion and he will surely get his rank pounded into his chest just like I received....ah yes, the ceremonial "blood rank" pounding! Hell, maybe I'll go when he makes E-4/Specialist and do it anyways. Quick side story, I keep my expired 20 something year old ID, the pink one they gave me when I ETS'd in my wallet for when I go to Lowes or Home Depot and was actually able to use it to get on post. I guess being a gate guard hasn't changed much, they just kind of glanced at it and allowed me to pass right on in. Brandon's mom was pissed because she had to spend the time getting an actual visitors pass. The chimp is a smart and sly chimp!!! Here are a few pics of him and I, as well as him and his upper chain of command. Last edited by skosh69; 04-17-2016 at 05:51 PM. |
