Hornady Cam Lock Bullet Puller
Well, I had another aw-s**t moment the other day.
Seems like I loaded up a box of 100 Hornady 250gr XTP bullets using my standard 230gr JHP recipe. Not good. Frankly, I'm not even sure why I had those bullets. So anyway I was stuck with 100 loaded cartridges and the thought of pulling the bullets with my kinetic puller. I wasn't looking forward to that. So I searched the web for bulk bullet pullers and up came a couple: an RCBS and the Hornady. The RCBS looked like it was more difficult to use than the Hornady, so I ordered the Cam Lock and a 45 cal collet from Midway and they came today. Here's what it looks like. Sorry, I didn't take a pic of it on my press: After just a few minutes of setting it up in my Challenger press, I was in business. One hour later I had unloaded those 100 bullets and reloaded them with 230gr JHP. The Hornady press pulls bullets gently enough that the powder stays in the cases. The bullets come out looking brand new without a mark on them. I bet lots of you know about these things, but in case someone doesn't, they're pretty inexpensive and work great. If you have a lot of pulling to do, I highly recommend it.
