I was wondering about that and what the spread is on such a short barrel. What do you run in it while on truck duty? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Military surplus 00 buck with a reload in the hangin gun case in my truck. As far as spread, all I can tell ya is it knocked hell out of two trees at about 7 yards

The 2 3/4” #4 buck patterns nicely in the COM A-zone of an IDPA silhouette target, and the second shot I took at the head removed just about all of it from the body. I shot a five pack of the buck, and brought along an old box of high brass #6 shot (1960’s vintage) for anyone else that wanted to try it. They finished that box in short order. Everyone liked the little Mossberg, and I know of at least one guy who went out and bought his own, as I shot it a few weeks later. The Mossberg holds six rounds of three inch 12 gauge shells; the Remington holds five. I don’t know about the 20 gauge ones they make now, but I’d imagine they’re the same. I had no problems hitting with it from about half way between the 3/4 hip and point shoulder positions, but anyone without threat focused shooting training may have a problem, especially if they hold it up in front of their face so they can look over the bead. I would NOT recommend trying to shoot it that way. It’s also very easy to shoot from the hip from a recoil standpoint, as long as you’ve trained to shoot that way.
