If you want an entry level high power rifle to get started, Savage Axis is hard to beat. 314 delivered from Buds, minus rings and scope. A little tweaking and it is now shooting touching holes. AS A PLUS, I volunteer to help you sight it in...your shoulders and such will need to be relaxed

I'm glad you're happy with the stock. Is that a Milspec 5R barreled action?

It's cool that you can get a DBM for it. I still need to send a stock to Badger to be inletted. The mags are AICS compatible? If they're typical Magpul quality, I've got to pick up some of them. The AICS mag price has severely limited my inventory.

How stiff is the forearm?

.....and nice shooting.

Thanks. Yes, it's a Milspec 5r. The stock is great especially for the price ($240ish). According to Magpul, it will accept AICS mags as well as pmags (obviously ). The forend has no give, it is stiff as a board...no flex. It has an insert in it that can be flipped to allow a bull barrel to free float. I grabbed my bipod and started twisting it and the forend didn't flex. I recommend this stock for it's performance and price. It's a little heavier than others out there but, for a precision rifle...who cares. Weight helps with stability. It is also well balanced. It's a keeper.

Remind me to never ask for your "assistance" in rifle shooting!
