Default Good Question

In the 1970s, I was a Corpman and Drug/Alcohol Abuse Counselor in the Air Force, which gave me the misguided idea to go to graduate school for social work. For the last 32 years, I have been a Clinical Social Worker. From 1997until I retired in 2010, I worked with service members and their families. (I have been credentialed at both Walter Reed and NNMC-Bethesda.) This included post deployment combat veterans. (I hold additional certification for working with victims of trauma.) I also served in the Army Reserve as a Social Work Officer, retiring in 2004.

Since retiring in 2010, I do some part time EAP work (telephone counseling) for Carebridge Inc. I am also involved with The Soldier's Project, on a voluntary basis. http://thesoldiersprojectpa.org/

I teach science at a local high school, and for a local university.

In my spare time I like to do freelance art jobs (been scrimshawing 1911 grips lately) to help make ends meet.

I'm also working on a Masters in Arts and Science, so I go to school at night. Other than that, and the obvious "powder-based" interests, I like to shoot pool, fish, and hunt. I hardly have time for that though. Most of the time I'm chasing my toddler son around the house and avoiding "honey-do's".

Wow. Randall, that's big-time. Love Randall knives (wish I could afford one)!

I would love to post the few photos I have of my work, but they might be a bit racy to post on the open forum. Nudes are sort of a traditional subject matter for scrimshaw, and that's what most of my customers have requested, so that's what I have photos of. If doesn't care, I can pm you (or anyone else that wants to see) some photos of some work I've done.

Jason

Oh, well, truth be told, I'd prefer to do wildlife and stuff like that. It just seems most guys want the naked women on their pistols.

I did find a pic of a scrap piece of buffalo horn I had from some knife scales I made. I was playing around with a new scribe on it, so it's not "serious" work, but at least I can post something.
