Idiot Scratch Proofing
This is a modification that is done on slide stops, as it allows easy installation of the slide stop and greatly reduces the possibility of the dreaded ‘Idiot Scratch’, and, it doesn't affect function or reliability. It is easily done with a needle file. To install, the slide stop is positioned directly on top of the plunger and you can feel it saddle over it and then push the slide stop straight in.

I actually thought briefly about doing this, but then thought better of it. Now that I see that is the recommended solution, I'll give it a try. I don't always trust my own ideas. Don't ask me why.....

I still have to do this to get the bushing out of my Baer, and I've had it almost four years now.

Move the barrel forward at least a 1/2" before turning the bushing; that way it's not still tight fit with the barrel.

This was the same experience I have had with my new VBob over the last few days. Getting the gun apart was a treat. I did the Frog Lube treatment and the Frog Lube was too thick and prevented reassembly. I cleaned that off and applied Militec 1, as directed ( ) and everything went together much easier. I still like Frog Lube for the looser pistols, but Militec 1 will be used for the VBob. Good luck.
