Of course it didn't cost me anything and I responded by buying a '09 Heritage and '10 CCO.......lol
So, that's an interesting thought - is it because the screw is in too far, or not far enough?

Can someone knowledgeable explain to me how an overtravel screw can cause this?

Lane, I don't understand it either. It has something to do with bow length.

Why should you hate to do this? That was very good and pertinent reading. And, said very gently what many are probably thinking "what the hell is this guy doing??"

And the best part, he mentions being taught by Bob Rodgers. September can't come soon enough.

It is a good thread. I didn't want to revert back to the "Big Forum".

Lane, what frame and slide are you going to pick out?

This describes the part that the overtravel screw plays: http://forums.1911forum.com/showthre...vel+adjustment

Come on September...

I'm not sure yet - I really like the commander size for daily carry, and would like this to be a EDC gun. But, I'd also really like a nice custom full size. Dunno.

Lane, I'm not trying to persuade you on anything. If it was my first build from the ground up, it'd be a full size.

I'm only 5'6", do you think I could fit in your suitcase?

I know you couldn't do it in class, but have you seen the Damascus slide?

I like it.
