There is nothing wrong with them. I have Stainless II and do like it. Its relaable, will shoot all type of shells, accurate as my SA's. Its a large production item so there are some varations on the gun to gun sometimes but they make a lot of guns. I like mine....but I like my Colt and my STI better.

Really no secret to my madness guys. I see them as an investment. I just look for deals and pick them up. Then resell them. I dunno what I do but, I guess I make one hell of a salesman.

Nothing at all wrong with a Kimber, after all it is a 1911!!!

I have a polymer pro carry that shoots straight and is perfectly reliable I've had it since 2001. The only reason I bought my guardian was to have a single stack. I must say though the dw is still my favorite.

MIM... there is a difference.
Ive got a kimmy. Carry her everywhere. Shoots perfect. Every good forum needs something to pick on. Kimber is the butt of most "jokes."

My own take on this is that MIM was invented to make tooling tough enough to cut the newer super alloys. If done right, MIM parts should be pretty much indestructible.
On the other hand, I don't like additional firing pin blocking systems in a 1911. Why add complexity (and possible failure points) you don't really need? If I were looking to buy a Kimber, I'd look for a pre-II gun. On the other hand, for $600 I might learn to like a II. Randall |

Nothing wrong with my Kimber
I know some people diss them because they have MIM (Molded in Metal) parts, but I have no issues with mine.
(OK, there is one thing wrong with it: it has an idiot scratch. But don't blame the gun, blame the idiot: me.) |
