What sights?
What style sights do the RIA's take? The TAC Compact specifically.

I have one, they should be Novak sights.

DrHenley, the older guns used a Novak "style" sight and cut but I have heard that the newer guns are using a true Novak cut and LPA sights.

New ones definitely use Novak dovetails. A few days ago, I swapped the rear of my FS TAC with a Novak LoMount.
The front dovetail, while somewhat undersized, is also a Novak cut.

After much digging and research and talking to RI when I bought my TAC II awhile back it turns out that they don't exactly use a Novak cut, it is similar but a bit smaller then Novak.
I have installed sights on two different RI 1911's on one I used a Novak cut sight and it worked but it was a lot of work to make it fit. On the second I used a RI sight form Dawson Precision and this one worked much better. Dawson cuts their sight's slightly smaller to allow you to fit them but it was pretty easy to fit. |
