It sounds intimidating but once you do it once and learn the little tricks its easy. I enjoy detail stripping my 1911s and feel extremely satisfied after a thorough cleaning. Only thing better than a clean 1911 is a hot dirty one. (same could be said for women )

Thanks , and yes it worked out all the pieces went back together and all safety checks passed, but shooting it will be the test

When you shoot it only load the mag with a couple rounds to test first. Full auto 1911 probably isn't fun when your not expecting it.

Woo Hoo...I just used the link posted by and took her down to the frame and it went back together easier than I thought!

Didn't have to take to a gunsmith in a box......

I did end up with a baggy of extra parts.......just like Greg Brady did when he rebuilt that '57 Chevy convertable.
