My Deer Rifle
Custom built on Ruger #3 action. Boyd buttstock blank, Forend was made from scratch from a block of walnut 26" Pac-Nor barrel, Palma profile Chambered for 264 RLB The 264 RLB is a wildcat based on the 6.8 SPC case, necked down to 6.5mm and the shoulder blown forward to 40 degrees. Pictured is a 223 next to my 264 RLB deer load. 130 grain Nosler Accubond 33 grains Reloder 17 Silver State Armory 6.8 SPC brass (small primer) Wolf 223 Small Rifle Primers 2540 fps The case capacity is only about 3 grains more than the 223, but the ballistics are on par with 6.5 Swede factory loads. And of course I can't leave out my aught six: Browning B-78 High Wall. 30-06 And then there are all of those safe queens...

Nice rifles Doc. I know a guy that has one of those Browning single shot lever guns in 30-06 too. I really liked shooting that rifle.

The 30-06 High Wall used to be my main most deer gun until I got the 264 RLB made. It was my favorite rifle of all time, and probably still is. But the 264 RLB is such a honey to shoot, it's giving the 30-06 quite a lot of competition.
The 264 RLB has racked up three bucks and two does in the last three years, one of which was my daughter's first buck which she drilled through the heart at 150 yards, and two bucks that I shot at around 300 yards. It has exceeded all expectations... I know...Pictures Pictures Pictures... Yeah Yeah Yeah... My Daughter's first buck:
