My AR build....
so to speak.
Several months ago I won a karma which was a tasco reddot sight. I decided to deviate from my normal 1911 frame and consulted with our resident expert on other platfroms. Here's a few pictures and captions from the OMEGA project. I can't thank Gary enough for his time on the phone coaching me through smithing steps (albeit rudimentary to the accomplished) to bring this to fruition. Here's what started the whole project. Karma cuts both ways. After deciding to do this, I had to figure out what gun to use. I planned on hunting feral hogs with it so I chose the Glock 22 .40S&W. It was a good platform for what I tried to accomplish. Here's a pic of the gun and a target before the transformation. I wanted to keep the stock sights which has proven to be a wise choice. I learned the hard way about battery powered sights. I checked it prior to leaving for the range one day but when I got to the range, it was too weak to perform in bright light. It was beneficial to be able to use the stock sights. We decided on using a Carver C-More mount which lets you do this if necessary. Over a period of a week or so, I put this together with frequent emails and phone calls with Gary. I had one minor setback. The weaver style mount would not tighten down on the front of the sight due to impact of the tightening gnurl knob on the mount. This was solved with a stainless steel washer. Here's how it turned out and one of the first 15 round magazines fired. Gun shoots better than I do which is consistent with my other weapons. I will admit that it still feels a bit odd in my hand but I'm sure it will normalize. I am confident Glocks won't replace my 1911s but it was a fun project and the gun will serve me well for its intended purpose. Thanks again to Gary for all his help and PATIENCE.

The only thing that I can say is Thanks to Mike for the kind words (he does not know it but I was reading the manual while on the phone ) No actually he was great to help and Mike followed all of the steps.
The gun will shoot better and you get use to it, make sure to carry extra batteries for the sight. Nice shooting Enjoy! Gary
