I also like knives!
I sent a chromed Colt Commercial Model Government Model in .45 with a nickeled .38 Super upper to Greg Derr, an outstanding gunsmith in MA. I also have 2 Colt .22 conversion units. I asked Greg to work his magic on them!
The knife came by way of Collectors Firearms in Houston. It sat on their website for a year or so beginning at $1,200 and gradually dropping to $750.00. I offered them $650 which they took. Ed Kalfayan was a knife Maker from Michigan who made a very decent knife; for whatever reasons his work was never highly recognized; an oversight to be sure. The scrimshaw and engraving are by Joe Rundell one of the best engravers in the country. Here they are:
