Quik release scope mount ?
So what do you think about this type of scope mount ? What are the odds of it retaining zero or even close to it ?
It would make it easy to pack the rifle away with out fear of banging ( not that I would do that , but you never know ) the scope around . Click : http://www.ebay.com/itm/NcStar-MARCQ...-/201514067160 Thanks , Arley

just my opinion but I have a older 30-06 Remington and it has a scope with iron sights. To use the iron sights the scope has hinges and swings down to the non eject side and then when you need to use the scope it filps up back to the standard position. It has a release mech not like this but the same concept.
I could never keep the scope on target after rotating it out and in. It would be on paper but never keep it at "zero" so I ditched it, took the iron sights off and did a standard mount. I would be skeptical of this...but that is me

As long as you know the scope will need some adjustment after being removed and reinstalled, it should do the job....but NcStar has a mediocre reputation for quality. It should keep impacts within a few inches of the previous zero.
I've got a couple LaRue LT104 mounts and they don't return to the absolute perfect zero they had before being removed, but are close enough....and they're among the top few options. The other top options are still an order of magnitude more costly than the NcStar. If there's a chance of needing to use it for self defense, I personally wouldn't go "cheaper" than a Burris AR-P.E.P.R.

I'll say that my experience varies from what has been previously posted. Aimpoint H2 and M3 on my .22LR carbine AR and my 5.56 Carbine AR, respectively, QDs return to the same POI, so long as you go to the same slot on the pic rail, at least as well as I can shoot them. But they are an order of magnitude more expensive that the NC Star.

I have never seen anything NCstar made that was worth owning IMO.. If you want a QD that will hold zero going to need to spend more money IMO. Have had good luck with bo bro, larue, American defense, and GG&G. Nikon makes a nice fixed mount as does Burris and aero precision that I have used.
