Default Thanks Ell!

Big thanks to Ell for sending me his old Handguard from this thread http://www.cotep.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12054 I had a plain standard style guard on my 10.5" 5.56 SBR and decided I wanted a quad rail for this so I could put a light on it and later an open sight optic so it will be a home defense rig if ever the need should arise. My problem was it has the F marked FSB which I did not want to remove so I was limited to two piece handguards which meant I couldn't use the free float quad rail I was going to take off my 8.5" 300 BLK upper. Then Ell's thread comes up and he removing the exact handguard I am looking for off his .308 for a much more appropriate full length free float rail. I offered to buy it but he refused and instead set it and the mounting hardware to me for free! I of course accepted his very generous offer and the results are below with before and after pics

Here is the before with the plain mil spec handguard.

This is with the new to me quad rail. It required zero modifications. Two pieces off and two pieces on. The Delta ring was not agreeable either on or off but is a very tight fit which is much better than lose.

The biggest pain in the a** you'll probably ever have to deal with watches you from the mirror every morning.

Looking good bud!!! Sorry the Delta ring had some scuffs to it. I was trying to be careful when I removed it. Good thing I didn't use a dremel to cut it off eh?

I do not deserve the credit though. That'd be , who started the whole freebie thing when he sent me the Troy flash hider.

Sending you the handguard was the least I could do when you expressed interest in it.
