I stopped buying ruger handguns when I found the safety flips off in the wrong direction on the P85-95 series. Exact opposite of the 1911 and every other safety I've ever used. Wonder if they did that with their 1911's too? Hmmmmm..... "just sayin'"

No, their 1911 thumb safety works as you'd expect.

Actually the Ruger is pretty much a direct copy of a series 70 1911 with none of the firing pin safety bull crap in fact the only part that you can't change out is the plunger tube that integral to the frame instead of being staked in like on other 1911s.
