Call cj at 1911 heaven. You can get a fine les baer with the 1.5" guarantee for under your 2000 range. Top notch target guns, hard fit, and each special to its build.

Okay, I've given up on the idea of ordering a custom gun. I just don't have the patience to wait that long. I need a new gun, and I need one NOW!
But it's seriously frustrating that any time I have coin to buy a new gun, forum classifieds are a barren wasteland for me. Oh but there's always a half dozen guns on my wish list when I'm broke. I did find one of the new PM-9s on GB that has probably the nicest factory grips I've ever seen. The problem is the gun has the huge Dan Wesson script printed on the left of the slide. Bummer...
