Default Not that Gun Shops usually charge MSRP, but ......

http://cz-usa.com/product/dw-valor-4...hts-8-rd-mags/
MSRP $2012.00 So, the Silverback is priced accordingly, I think so.

So, street price might also be comparable, around $1800, maybe a little less after a while. I wonder if it will be a regular offering or limited edition.

Smile Let us compare!

You can buy a Valor for about $1800.00 street price. Give or take.
Now, the closest 1911 to it is a Wilson CQB Base Price $2865.00 without night sights!
http://wilsoncombat.com/new/handgun-...p#.VGFKLWfgtSM
Ed Brown, very close to a Valor :At least $2695
http://www.edbrown.com/pdf/2014-Handgun.pdf
Summary, I Think Dan Wesson Valors are a Great 1911 for the price!

It's in keeping with the prices of the higher end DW 1911s. DW has offerings spread out from $1298 MSRP for the Heritage, up to $2023 or so for the Valor and Valkyrie. Then there are the really high end guns in the $3K to $4K.

DW is just putting out another higher end 1911. They are long past the early days and the sub $1K prices. They couldn't build the kind of guns they are building for much less I expect. They aren't the most expensive on the market either for production guns, look at STI.

I'm not that familiar with all of the Kimber and SA models, but DW seems to be pricing themselves between those companies and the semi-custom market. They seem to think there is a market for guns in that range for people who are not going to spend $3K+ for a 1911.

Granted Les Baer does make a "lower end" offering in the same range as the Valor. From what I understand from those who have both, the Valor is just as "quality" as the Les Baer. It's just that the Les Baer name has become legend.

In many ways, Dan Wesson has better quality than Les Baer. In My Opinion based on the Baer I did have. Sold it pretty quick. Gladly! And my experience with Les himself.
I won't buy another.
