I travel WalMarts, from South Florida to South Carolina, there is NO glut of any caliber right now. .22 LR is by luck even when I know what is going on in certain stores. Also, .22LR never did double or triple, WalMart was selling 550 packs for $24.00 last month. The author speaks with forked tongue. Sounds to me like he is talking about the online market where anything can be had for a premium.

I was talking to somebody at a LGS. He had been to the Shot Show and supposedly had lunch with the folks from Hornady. According to him there will be new taxes and burdensome regulations imposed on the ammo manufacturers starting October this year. Prices may not come down as much as we hope. His recommendation is stock up, which we should be doing anyway.

Don't even bother with that thought, we are at the new norm now, and it will rise.

I agree that prices will be going up. I do not mind that as long as supplies are plentiful. Even at premium prices buying a little at a time doesn't hurt.

are there any shops that carry powder around Mason?

I've seen some powder at Kramer's Wood & Metal Works ( just got two ponds of Herco there Wednesday) and Gibson's in Kerrville had Powder last time I was down there, and Arrowhead Gun Shop used to have powder before they closed in 06, I haven't been in yet but I saw a while back they re-opened so they could have something.
