It will temper down quite a bit. it takes a few hundred rounds.

You may bet getting a bit of 'dieseling' from oil inside the compression chamber. Once all the oil burns off, it should quiet down. You'll also lose a bit of power, but gain accuracy at the same time.

Well, just mounted the new BSA 3-9x40AO and mounts, need to sight it in this weekend.
