Not a Walmart defender here, but: If it happened to me, no way we leave the store without inspecting the gun. OTOH, how freaking hard did it get dropped to break a gun in a box? Remington's are pretty well packaged.

Man, that's rough. I think I'd have a chat with WalMart corporate about that manager and how they should make it right. When they don't, hopefully Remington will.
