My Friend that is one of the reasons I spend most of my time on this Forum, do a search on the internet about everything you mentioned..............
None of the members on the 1911 are real Collectors......................IMHO....... ![]()

I think I would be VERY tempted to clean it up! But that's just me...
I'd want to see it in brand spanking new condition. I don't really consider wax and cosmoline part of the "original" condition. Something like a coat of Mobil1 to make it look all shiny and new. Caked cosmoline just turns me off.
