That's very cool. I've bought two Palmetto State Armory uppers (one for a friend and one for me) and they're both good for the money. I believe they were approx $430 each.

I chose their 16" mid length gas system with hammer forged barrel.

Neither has malfunctioned yet.

They may cost more, but they are well worth it.

Take a look at BCM (Bravo Company)That is what i'm put on my Spike's Tactical lower with a Troy battle rail.

There is no doubt that BCM, Daniel Defense, and Colt make top quality uppers and are well worth their cost if you plan to trust your life to the rifle.

BCM actually has a 16" hammer forged mid length on sale right now on their site for $489, which doesn't include a bolt carrier group or handguards. Finding them in stock is generally the only issue with them.

Of I may offer an alternate suggestion Mike, get either a 6.8SPC or Grendel upper for it. You can use the same magazines(Capacity is reduced by two rounds) and you end up with a much more effective round that can also be used to hunt larger game with like Deer. The 6.8 is basically a shortened 270Winchester and is three times more effective at any range than the 5.56.

Just a thought, Juuuuusssssttttt a thought.

I fully agree with Dave on the 6.8 SPC front.

I built one up, and and am very happy with it so far.
