6.0 would be max, I have loaded it past 6 adn the chrony didn't do much over 900 but was terrible shooting. I use 5.6-5.8 and have good data on that. Can usually get 825-850ish fps in my STI. Pretty happy with that.
About the numbers all over you have to remember a laweyer helped them with that loading book and they aer scared to death of lawsuits. FYI I have found the LEE manuals to be the weakest and most reserved. I use multiple books for referance but never one for a load. I think this is why a chrony is a must for loading to find what works and what doesn't....but that is my opinon!

Another thoguth when they test the loads for manuals they use perfect conditions as well. Usually underground in a controlled enviroment and using longer barrels than we shoot out of. Trying to get good numbers. You all should se the Hornady range...super awesome!!!
