OWB with Snaps - completed
I've remade the holster - this is the final piece that'll ship out tomorrow (a mere 13 months after it was ordered, I might add...)
I really like the design we came up with. I've been wearing the prototype for the last couple of weeks. It rides nice and high, and sucks in nice and close to the belt. The directional snaps seem to work well and make it very easy to put on and take off. I've seen a couple of variations on the OWB w/ snaps from other holster makers - one thing that many have in common is the leather loops attached after the fact with screws and rivets. I don't care for that look, and had the belt loops come from the same piece of leather as the front of the holster. Front view, snaps open: Front view, snaps closed: Side view, showing how the straps don't add a bunch of bulk, since it's one piece of leather. I'm pretty happy with it: From behind, you can see that I put the snap hardware on before laminating the leather, so there's nothing to mark up your belt: If anyone is interested, I'll be adding this style to my web site, base price will probably be $10 more than the normal COTEP holster - the directional snaps are a bit expensive. As always, if you have questions or comments or verbal abuse, lemme know - here or via PM. I'd actually prefer here - makes it a group project. Lane
