T-3 with Nighthawk 22LR Conversion
My favorite Fedex Deliveryman brought me a present today. It's a Bob Marvel designed, 22LR Conversion for my Nighthawk T-3. This conversion will fit all 1911's, including all frame sizes. The T-3 is an Officer's frame same as my CCO, but comes with a Commander 4.25" slide. When I talked with all the 22LR conversion makers only NH promised theirs would fit an Officer's frame. I'll do some Range Reporting on it this weekend. Here's what it looks like on the T-3, I'll add picts of it on the CCO and it also fits my Valor (full-size). This takes less than 5 minutes to change-out from .45 to .22 or the reverse.
What a difference between the .22LR and the .45ACP!

Wow. Looks great!
I can see some differences in the details of this kit vs. the AA kit I bought that we were just discussing the other day. On the stock AA kit, to keep the aluminum slide from peening from the slide stop, there's a steel insert screwed into the slide. It works great, but is kind of an eyesore. Somehow Mr. Marvel got rid of that on these. Is the reciprocating part of the slide made entirely of steel on yours? It looks a lot better than that rectangular piece that is screwed in on mine. The slide serrations are nice looking too, and different than the straight ones on mine. I'd say it was money well spent. Especially when you take into consideration what you'll save in ammo. Looks great. What sights came on yours? Jason |

yes, the moving part of the slide is steel. The non-moving barrel with sights is locked up solid to the frame. This couldn't fit any better if it had been custom fit at the factory as a gun. The slide before you lock it down is smooth with no slop, and once you lock it down its nice feeling. A little more play before you lock it down on the CCO, haven't tried it on the Valor yet. Same as the T-3, once you lock it down, any additional movement is totally gone on the CCO. BTW, Nighthawk is coming out with a doublestack mag that will fit the 1911 for this conversion. Not sure how many additional Boolits you'll be able to add but might have to get one to try it!
