Default My New DW CCO

I'm "official". I've purchased my first Dan Wesson 1911. I chose the CCO. Why? Because I can't afford the V-Bob yet, and didn't want the Guardian (yet).
It took a week to get it delivered from the venerable Dave Severns Custom. I was told over and over to go to Dave... he would "take care" of me. And he did. Including my repeated phone calls, not understanding the difference between a CBOB and a CCO bobtail (which we both agree shouldn't be called a bobtail. Its confusing!)

On to the presentation: Here's what it looks like "in the box". au naturale...

Two mags, an oiler, the gun, a lock. and documents (which I haven't even looked at yet!) My bad....

I did a field strip of the firearm, and cleaned and lubed it up for the trip to the range. I won't bore you with pictures, Its a 1911 for crying out loud! If you're here... you know what one looks like taken apart. POINT IS: There are NO mim parts. Anywhere.

Today: took the CCO to the range. Bad day at work. Needed stress reduction. Go shooting!!! With new CCO. Yeah... I liked it. and I'll admit it.
Here is the picture of the results of my labors. It was seven shots at 210 yards. No make that 21 yards..... ok.... it was at 21 feet. Get over it.

I put about 150 rounds through the weapon today. Ran it VERY wet. Lots of FP-10. I still smell like a Browne and Sharpe Screw Machine after a 10 hour day of overtime. The new gun got dirty. not that you'd; believe me... but heres the pictures during cleaning:

Throughout it all, GoldenVolt's kids were cheering wildly:

You are making me want a puppy.......

Beautiful CCO you got there. My CCO was my third DW and it is a cut above my CBOB and Heritage. I like the CCO so much that I've had it for a year and still think it is too nice to carry.

"Congrats Michael, did you hear Angels singing when you went to pick it up?????????"

No ... I heard nothing until the heavens opened and bright sunlight streamed down though the clouds, and I heard a voice from above say:
"Now THAT's a nice Pistol! In which I am well pleased."

That's good - when I shot my new Dan Wesson CBOB, I had a visitation from Ted Nugent: http://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=248923

Now, we need to get some leather to adorn and protect that beautiful piece of hardware.
