S&w 41
So, after having problems with my Ruger during a Steel Challenge Competition,
I purchased from my Friends Jim's estate a 7" S&W 41. The gun is a 2005 gun and had very little through it, but it did have some front end scratches. Since I am using the gun in Competition, I had my Friend and Gunsmith jack put in some Front end Press Checks on both sides of the slide. I than had the total gun put through (except some small parts) Fail-Zero. I added an Allchin sight mount (get the sight as close to the frame as possible and had an extra c-more that I put on top... It had 2 mags and I purchased 3 more. The grips that came with the gun are in the grip box and I got a set of Herretts S&W Flat 41's. Working on the Zeroing but Real work keeps on getting in the way. Any way here is a photo of my 41, with a range report to follow at the end of next week.

First let me say that my Ruger was not stock. It is a Mark III lower that I sent to Volquartsen and had the Mag safety removed. This is necessary since you are to drop the hammer on an empty chamber after finishing your stage and show empty.
The gun also had a Tactacle Solutions PC lite fluted barrel with a Allchin custom comp. on the front. So after a out 7000 rounds the firing pint and ejector broke during the third stage of a Steel Challenge match. When I spoke to a friend at Ruger he said it was due to constant dropping of the firing pin on an empty chamber. I ordered a competition bolt from Volquartsen ( has a stronger firing pin than stock) and I am in the process of getting it set up as my back up gun. The 41 came my way and I decided to move it into the prime number 1 slot. Well that is my story and I am sticking to it.
