Glad to be aboard!
Hello all! Many of you will know me from the FCC forum. I am grateful to BeerHunter for the referral, and I look forward getting to know all of you better and becoming more "enlightened."
I am originally from the PRNJ but fear not. I moved to Florida in March, 2015, to escape that tyranny (Hence, my forum name: "Free from NJ, GTFO" ) having visited FL at least twice a year since 2006 to facilitate my other Florida Hobby, "cave diving" (For you other fellow divers, I am AN/DP and full cave). I started shooting at age 10 in summer day camp (22 rifles). I had taken a Riflery course in College but went dormant until 2013, when my cave diving mentor also became my 2A mentor. Bought my first pistol (a P226) in late 2013 and have been working on my "inventory" ever since. It's small, but it's getting there. For COTEP mission purposes, I own two 1911's - a Para Expert .45acp, and a S & W "Pro Series" SW1911 sub compact). I got my FL Non-res CWFL while still in NJ (along with UT & AZ). Now proud that it is a "resident" FL CWFL. I am also a sustaining member of Florida Carry. Thanks all, and it will be great to get to know you all and contribute to the forum, and to COTEP. Best Regards, Arnold (FfNJGTFO). |

That said, a lot of the blame must lie with the NJ Legislature. These are the true "anti 2A' people. In fact, A task force Christie assembled recommended some tweaks to the "justifiable need" standard in the NJAC (regulations code) that would make it easier for people in situations like Carol Bowne to get a NJ CCW permit. But, already, the Sen. Majority Leader, Loretta Weinberg (one of the strongest anti-gun legislators) has pushed through a bill to nullify what Christie was trying to correct in the regulations. It passed the Senate and is waiting action in the Assembly. Having seen what the FL leg. did to the OC bills this past session (or didn't do) is only evidence that we need to be very watchful of our politicians and not let them get away with things like that. "Constant vigilance." |
