Default I did it again.

I know that we are not supposed to like them around here, but I have owned a few Kimber/Mimbers. All of mine were good guns, and the dreaded MIM never caused any issue, and nothing ever broke. I purchased another several months ago. This one, an Eclipse Target in 38 Super, has now digested several hundred rounds of factory and handloaded ammunition ( using both 38 Super and 38 Super Comp brass ) flawlessly. This, with the factory Kimber magazine, as well as STI, Colt and Metalform magazines. No tweaking, tuning, adjusting, etc. required. Just no malfunctions of any kind. I have changed a few things due to personal preference, but nothing to improve reliability or accuracy. I also have an STI Trojan and Colt Special Combat Government in 38 Super. If the much more expensive Colt, or the kimber, had to be liquidated for some reason, the Kimber would not be the first to go.......

Thanks for the report! I would love be to get more familiar with the .38 Super caliber. Of course the more familiar I get with calibers the more reloading supplies I end up with!

There it is again...that word that shall not be uttered amongst the congregation, THAT K WORD!

No... we shan't ban the transgressor for the use of the "K" word. Since I own a Dan Wesson Guardian in 38 Super (it's my daily carry)... I will use the "force of Good" (DW) to absolve the transgressor of his error in choosing a "K-gun"

Enjoy your new Pistol. I've been thinking a target 38 super. My 45's and .357 are starting to make my hands twinge. Might drop them from the line and just stay 38 super, 38 Special and 9mm.

Now.. on the reloading side of things... I talked via email with Keith from DW a few weeks back. Try to find .356 anything to reload for the 38 super. I had 3500 115 grain .355 9mm on the shelf, and another 4000 125 grain .357.... both are Montana Gold JHP. Lo and behold, I can load both the 115 9mm OR the 125 grain .357. They told me that it's been done for years. So I loaded up some 125 grain .357 hollowpoint into 38 Supercomp cases and went off to the range. I used load data for 124 grain JHP. I now have a new favorite load. The 2/1000 difference goes down the barrel just fine, and the accuracy is better than when I use 9mm pills. The 9mm profile is more angled then the rounded JHP of the 357, but they feed just fine! So... again... enjoy your new pistol!
