1911 in 7.62 Tokarev
My Grandfather loves the Tok round. It is very powerful and would make a great SD load. I wonder how much this would be from RIA factory.

I don't think this was done at the RIA factory.

Wowza, that pistol is very good looking. Not familiar with tokarev 7.62x25 at all. From the article it seems it has more punch than a 38 super. Interesting.
The case hardened(?) finish of the frame is gorgeous.

No I doubt it is factory but I was just speculating if it would become a catalog
Item, how much it would be. Tokarev is a bottle necked cartridge. If you ever want an eye opener do a YouTube search for Tokarev and Kevlar. In one they put a Kevlar insert against a wood post. There was so much kevlar fibers that the round pulled into the post that they couldn't move the insert and had to cut the kevlar or it would still be stuck to that post. Tokarev was based on the 7.63 Mauser. Ironic but the actual bullet diameter of the Tokarev is 7.87 and the Mauser is 7.86. Also the Tokarev is a bit more powerful. Rumor is that the Russians wanted to be able to pick up German Mauser ammo off the battle field and be able to use it while being too large and powerful for the Germans to use. Resulting in damaged weapons or possible Kabooms.
