It certainly is a shame how this North Carolina teacher ( and I say 'Teacher' loosely ) acted in front of these students, who should be able to look up to / respect him but what's even more disturbing is how some of the other North Carolina students responded to this awful act:
 - "Sadly, many of the teenager’s classmates are siding with the teacher". 
- “There was much more support for what he ( Teacher ) did than what I did,” he said – noting that some students even protested by refusing to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
