Depending on when it was made, they ranged from very well made, to poorly made. The ones made from late 1944 - 1945 are called 'last ditch' and could almost be considered different rifles.

Sigh..........What a shame....

Was in the gun store today, saw a T-99 Arisaka on the used rack. It was in bad shape, it was missing the magazine follower and spring, and the lower guide rails look like someone had been at them...
