Springfield GI Champion
Hey All,
Bought this GI Champ a couple weeks ago. Took it straight to the range, field stripped and lubed (Enos Slide Glide). Proceeded to fire 110 rounds of 230gr hardball and hollowpoint ammo. ZERO malfunctions or glitches of any kind! I was going to upgrade it big time....but just bought a Dan Wesson CCO instead. I will keep this GI as is.....crappy trigger and all! http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...ps98f49ba8.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...psd87a2c7a.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2db56221.jpg |
Nice gun. Hope you stay around here and enjoy it.

Sharp looking pistol!
When I was looking for my first 1911, I rented several different 1911s at the range and I was more accurate with the Springer Champ than anything else. Probably would have gotten one if I hadn't found a used DW at a pawn shop. One thing about 1911s, you don't have to live with a crappy trigger! If it doesn't smooth out on its on, a trigger job is pretty easy. |
carried it all day in a new Milt Sparks Versa MaxII.....
Grip is kinda long for a skinny dude like me, but the weight was fine. It's more my range beater at this point....what with the new DW CCO and all...:D |
